Uttarakhandbook Terms and Conditions

The purchase of any travel services provided by Uttarakhandbook (referred to as 'UKB') establishes a contractual agreement between UKB ('First Party') and you, the Client ('Second Party'). Both parties will be referred to collectively as the 'Parties.' By booking services with UKB, you unconditionally accept the terms and conditions outlined herein, which will be binding on you and all travel companions you book.

Trekking, peak climbing, andaineering in the Himalayan region involve inherent risks to the safety and property of both Parties. Weather conditions can change rapidly, potentially leading to injury ority, which is beyond UKB’s control. While UKB strives to minimize risks, discomfort, and hazards to the best of its ability (within financial limits), accidents and service deficiencies may still occur. Therefore, it is essential that you agree to these terms and conditions. Please read and understand them carefully before confirming your booking.

Images featured on the website and promotional materials are intended for marketing purposes only. They do not guarantee that the visual content represents your vacation experience or that you will encounter or see anything depicted in the pictures.

Fitness accountability

UKB provides tours and treks that to different fitness levels. The difficulty of each trip can vary based on physical demands, terrain, weather, and climate. Some journeys may be quite challenging, so important to review the difficulty ratings of each trip carefully before booking to ensure you are prepared.

UK is not a medical authority, and it is your responsibility to seek medical advice and stay updated on health requirements, including vaccinations, prior to your trip. UKB is not liable for your ability to manage the trip's difficulty. While most treks don’t require extensive preparation, maintaining a reasonable fitness level will enhance your experience. It is your responsibility to be fit and healthy, including both physical and mental readiness, as well as to pack appropriate clothing and gear. There are no age restrictions for UKB trips, but any disabilities, pregnancies, or medical conditions that could affect your to complete the trek must be disclosed during booking. You also affirm that you and your travel companions do not have any conditions that could pose a risk to yourselves or others.

Failing to disclose this may lead to immediate trip termination with a full cancellation penalty. UKB reserves the right to accept, decline, or remove any participant from a trip at their own expense if their condition poses a risk to themselves or other travelers.

Program Dates

You are solely responsible for verifying the correct dates mentioned on the travel documents.

Documents

Please ensure that all required documents are submitted in advance. UKB will not be held responsible for any trip formalities that are not completed on time prior to departure or for the lack of essential papers and documents.

Itinerary

Your safety and satisfaction are the top priorities for UKB. Therefore, UKB is committed to fulfilling its responsibilities with honesty and integrity, ensuring your journey is as smooth as you expect.

In line with commitment, UKB reserves the right to alter or cancel the trip or any part of it due to various circumstances, including but not limited to natural disasters, road blockages, political unrest, cancellations, delays, illness, accidents, and other events beyond UKB's control. Any additional costs incurred due to these circumstances will be your responsibility at that time. Whenever possible, UKB will inform you of any changes in advance or during the trip.

Refund

No refunds (partial or otherwise) will be issued if you voluntarily leave or drop out of a trip for any reason after it has started. Additionally, no refunds will be provided for unused accommodations, transportation, sightseeing, meals, or services.

If UKB cancels the trip due to unforeseen circumstances, we will gladly suggest an alternative trip or date, and you will be notified accordingly. You can choose to accept the alternative trip suggestion, receive a voucher (valid for one year), or request a different trip of your choice, with any cost difference to be covered by you. UKB will not be responsible for any additional fees, credit card charges, travel arrangement costs, or any other expenses related to flight cancellations, hotels, visas, etc. Refunds in this case will follow our cancellation policy.

Refunds will not be provided for any missed or unused services, including cases of voluntary or involuntary termination of the tour due to illness, family bereavement, or late arrival.

UKB is also not liable for any compensation for losses arising from trip alterations, cancellations, or extensions for any reason. However, you agree that UKB's maximum liability will be limited to the trip cost paid.

Communication

All correspondence will occur via the email address provided by the candidate in the registration form. UKB is not liable for any loss or delay in communication resulting an incorrect email address submitted by candidates.

Baggage Accountability

Baggage and personal effects are at your risk throughout the trip. You are solely responsible for your personal belongings while on the trip. UKB is not responsible for the loss of baggage, goods, air tickets, passport, cash, traveler’s cheques, or any other travel document or item owned by you while on tour, whatever the cause.

Trek Conduct

You are expected to conduct yourself in a manner that is respectful and supportive of group travel Uttarakhandbook maintains the right to terminate your trip if you are found to be distress or annoyance to fellow travelers, or if you endanger or damage the property of any supplier or other participants, with no obligation to provide a reason. In such cases, no refunds for unused services will be granted.

Additionally, you agree to adhere to the authority of the leader appointed by Uttarakhandbook. The tour leader's decisions are final regarding the safety and well-being of all participants. Any behavior that poses a risk, causes distress, or disrupts the group's mobility may result the termination of your participation in the trip, without entitlement to a refund for any missed or unused services.

Uttarakhandbook strives to provide the best comfort for our guests, but ask for your understanding that the amenities in the Himalayan region may differ from what you are used to at home. Additionally, weather conditions can significantly affect your experience. Therefore, we encourage you to approach this journey with patience, enthusiasm, and a readiness to make some compromises.

Additional costs

Unless noted otherwise, additional costs include insurance, international and domestic airfares, passport and visa fees, airport departure taxes, excess baggage charges, gratuities for guides, drivers, and camping staff, meals not mentioned in the itinerary,, and personal expenses like laundry, phone calls, and optional tours.

Awareness

By engaging in active adventure travel, you acknowledge that it involves a certain level of personal risk. You be traveling to areas where political, cultural, and geographical factors pose specific dangers and physical challenges By booking a tour with Uttarakhandbook, you confirm your understanding of these inherent risks and accept responsibility for them. You release Uttarakhandbook from any claims or actions related to damages, injuries, or fatalities resulting from these risks. It is essential for you to familiarize yourself with the local customs, weather conditions, physical demands, and applicable laws, including the contact information for your local embassy at each destination.

In the event of an emergency.

If you become ill or have an accident while traveling, you are responsible for all associated costs, including hospital expenses, doctor fees, reprepatriation costs, evacuation from the road or mountains, and any other charges arising directly or indirectly from your illness or accident.

Third party

You are asked to acknowledge that Uttarakhandbook engages third-party professionals to manage its extensive operations. By doing so, you agree to release Uttarakhandbook from any liabilities, whether direct or, resulting from any shortcomings in the services provided by these third parties. Uttarakbook is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage to your luggage, belongings, or personal safety while being transported by porters, ponies, or vehicles during your trip, arrival and departure, or stay at the hotel or guest house

Photography Rights

Uttarakhandbook reserves the right to photograph you during any trip may utilize photos you share via email, WhatsApp, or any website link for promotional purposes. By booking or participating in a trip with us, you grant us a royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide, and irrevocable license to use your images in promotional materials, including websites, social media, collateral, and other marketing efforts. Uttarakhandbook does not require your prior or compensation for such use of your photographs or videos. However, if you have concerns about your images being used, please notify Uttarakhandbook booking your trip.

Additional activities

Optional activities are not included in the trip or this contract. You acknowledge that any assistance provided by Uttarakhandbook, its partners, or representatives does not make Uttarakhandbook liable in any manner. Your agreement for such activities will be solely with the activity provider, and you release Uttarakhandbook from any claims or actions resulting from your participation.

Uttarakhandbook acts solely as a travel organizer and does not control or operate any airlines, hotels, restaurants, tourist attractions, transportation, or any other services listed in our itineraries.

Uttarakhandbook has taken reasonable measures to ensure that trip preparations meet necessary standards, carefully selecting service providers and confirming the accuracy of service descriptions. However, Uttarakhandbook only inspects and selects these providers and cannot be held responsible for any injury, damage, loss, accident, delay, or irregularity that may occur (directly or indirectly) due to the actions or shortcomings of the suppliers delivering specific services. Terms and conditions of suppliers, when applicable, will be clearly indicated.
